Hi, I just finished leveling both my DoW Retainers to 60 and I didn't unlock anything special (was kind of expecting to).
I can now hunt Chimera Mane but they're not exactly profitable, what was the point of getting my retainer to 60? Is there anything I can do with it now that I couldn't before?

I find Retainers to be a good way of maintaining a stock of materials for whenever the sudden urge to craft comes along.
Rather than hunting for 100 Chimera Manes, you can over the course of a few days, send the Retainer out for them, store them, and then craft with some/all of them. Then have your Retainer resupply you with them.
Or you can just send the retainer out on Quick Ventures or 18 hour Ventures that you could before. Of course, at level 60, the Retainer has access to all that higher-than-i150 gear, you know. That should have some impact upon the quality of junk that your Retainer brings back on those two Ventures. -

I use 2 characters each with 4 retainers, 4 set to DoW for leathers and 2 fishers for minions and fish, 1 botany and 1 miner. While some are still in process of leveling they will greatly help supply materials I can't be bothered to farm myself despite all my DoL at 60. My retainers are not really for making money, I make the money gathering on my character itself...the retainers are however for helping farm the materials needed to level my crafters while my gatherer character is busy farming items for selling.
