I seem to remember when you retire a chocobo you get an item that you use to breed. But I just retired my chocobo and didn't get anything. Did I screw up or is there something else I need to do?

Was your chocobo rank 40+? Cause you only get one after rank 40.
Blah retired at rating 41...I didn't realize it was possible to retire without getting a card, wish it was made more explicit.
Just for clarification, there's a rank and a rating, you can be rating 41 but the rank might be way lower.
