Dated recipe not in list; out of luck?

This issue seems to pertain to dated recipes that got updated with a new recipe. E.g. I do not have Dated Iron Ingots in my recent recipe list. I went and added 5 Iron Nuggets, and it will not let me make them.

I understand Nuggets are being phased out, but we are not allowed to STILL use up the reserves we have?

Same goes for items like Iron Sand, which was to no longer be dropped and no longer serve a purpose.

Am I the only one that seems to have completely misread the information given to us? I was really under the impression we would be able to make all the old recipes until sometime after patch 1.20.

The recipe for Iron Ingot is listed in the Updated Recipes list and had their recipe changed from 5 nuggets to 3 iron ores, you can still use iron nugget for old recipes that requires it, it's just no longer possible to make Iron Ingots from them.

Yeah, I had read all of those changes planned for synthesis. I guess I was so seated in my presumed notion, beforehand that we would not lose recipes until after 1.20, that it did not even register that the changes for Iron Nuggets, Logs, etc, would override those particular recipes.

However, with the Iron Sand situation, and possibly others, it is impossible to turn them into Iron Nuggets. That, and Steel Nuggets were the only thing they were for. I understand they, along with many other items, are not used for any NEW recipes; but items like that I had assumed would still be used in the Old recipes until phased out in 1.20 or later, not in 1.19.

The Iron Nuggets and Sand will not be a big deal to me. I can NPC the very few Sands I have and I can use the Nuggets still for Blacksmith. I do have other items, which are on the same list as Iron Sand, that I have not tested yet and am hoping they did not share the same fate.

I thought the same too, that we would be able to still use old recipes for a short while till they are phased out. I makes no sense to me I can still make a "Dated" Iron Needle with the nuggets, but can't make ingots out of them. What gives? Seems like an oversight to me.

So, as a lot of us do, I needed to make new main hand items for most my crafting classes. Made my own lower lvl blacksmith main no problem there. Well, for goldsmith it's a different story. Only lumber I have on me is some maple, and there is NO other lumber in the wards atm. So, I go to make myself a Bronze Chase Hammer. Yay, got all those ingredients; but let me /c the requirements for changing that to a Bronze Ornamental Hammer......

WTF! The one item that was suppose to be removed from being made b/c it was not going to ever be used for blacksmith or armorer again, but it's listed as an item required for goldsmithing. To quote the link from Cid, "we have decided to remove the two recipes for copper ingots altogether."

I think 'oversight' might be a slight understatement lol.

They removed the recipes for Copper Ingot from BSM and ARM, not from GLD.

Ugh, yeah I just looked at the lvl 1 recipes for goldsmiths and copper ingot is there. Now I do not see the purpose of removing it from blacksmith and armorers though. If it's still useable for goldsmith then logically there should be no need to remove it form the other two. I give, their wording is failing to come across properly for me.

Yeah... they really need to add the old ingot recipes back, let us liquidate our soon to be useless nuggets in a fashion that allows them to still be a viable crafting component.

The crafting changes are in very poor form.

Gold sand plus silver sand makes nuggets but 3 gold ore and 1 silver doesn't work...
