The Great Gubal Library mysterious mechanic

There was ocassions when players get instant dead at the area demon book-byblos(2nd area).
I'm not sure if this is a bug or something but players just died, it happened 3 times after dozens of runs.. I asked them what happened, and none of them answered.. The dillema of player who takes a vow of silence

1. A tank just died when attacking the first page 64 which was tethered to the tank.. At that time, i was the healer..
2. A monk died when taking chest coffer when clearly there wasnt any mobs attacking the monk..
3. A dragoon died in the same manner when taking treasure coffer..

Any idea what happens?

It's happened to me from the book mob. That blast zapped me totally
I'll have to watch for other deaths I get that happen out of no where and seemingly have no source.

It uses Level 5 Death just like in FF5, so I'm guessing you better watch yourself if you are level 60.

This is what I was thinking too. I've only seen the last book right before byblos cast it though. I had seen it cast a couple of times, and then just recently I got hit by it when I forgot about it and thought it was just a regular dmg aoe that I could easily survive...well that was a laugh

It is level 5 death, everyone level 60 that doesn't dodge that aoe will drop instantly and it's hilarious when it happens.

its not a bug, its part of his mechanics. to put it simply, you don't dodge=you die.Kill the books to reduce the stack and run the tether towards him to disrupt him and from there just dodge. that's pretty much the fight against byblos.

It's not about the fight against byblos, more to the "trash" fights between demon book to byblos..

The trash books do this ability as well. o/ Just be ready if people don't dodge they will die lol.

If they're level 60, of course. If you're level 59, you can stand in the AoE and watch the attack "Miss."
