I'm kind of hoping for a mod response on this one because to put it frankly, I don't know if I should toss these items or not (even just the base item like Rauni). There hasn't been any word as to whether or not we'll get consideration like DoW/DoM are with their relics. If anyone has heard anything about this could you let me/us know. They're just sitting on my retainer taking up 11 item slots because I don't know if I should toss them or not.
As you said we don't know, and mods will not give out information that hasn't been made publically available. I would hold onto them for the moment until you know that you can't do anything more with them (3.1 liveletter is not too far off so we may hear something then).
I'd recommend holding on to the Lucis, and raising any base/Supra level tools up to the Lucis level. There's always the chance that the current MH tools represent the Forager level, and that we will see the Lucis used as part of a hand in for an even higher level tool, just as the base level was turned in for a Supra, which was itself turned in for a Lucis.
The other reason is that the gathering Supra/Lucis represent very potent tools for your Retainers, as you level them up. As soon as your Mining Retainer hits level 50 you have essentially a level 60 NQ tool to give it if you have the Lucis handy. Much as no one likes paying $2/mo per extra Retainer, that model has apparently been very successful for SE, and I personally expect that any additional Retainers they add (unless they take pity on people) will also cost $2/mo, just as the 4 they added with HW. Whether you are paying for extra Retainers now, or not, they're going to add more eventually, which means that the gathering Lucis will only be an aid when that time comes.
I'm fairly sure you can re-purchase the basic versions from the calamity salvager. Check it though before tossing them..
For now you can use it as vanity.
I would hope we can at least store them in the armoire at some point would hate to throw them away having spent all that effort on them
Much like with the artifact gear you get from quests for battle classes, you can store the initial versions of the craft tools to armoire. However, upgrading them apparently makes them not suitable for that, much like augmenting the artifact gear.
