Why are simple cosmetic changes so hard to implement?

SMN and Carbuncles

Just add 2 Job spells that allow summoning of upgraded Carbuncles (that have equal potency to the Egis). Problem solved.

You can add the whole glamour system later when you have the new Egis ready.

DRK and Aura

So many complaints about this. Give players the option to turn off it's display - even if it's done via a slash command.

Something like this could be implemented in a hotfix.

But nope, they drag it on and on and on.

Just patch in these quick fixes and be done with it. You can "do it right" when you have the time or save it for next expansion.

How are people suppose to play the game when they aren't even happy with their character?

Don't forget MCH Visuals need help, badly.

Lower priority than content creation and gameplay changes.

Because not all the pet glamours would be implemented like that most likely and then what do you do about the ultimate moves. Wouldn't it be awkward to see carbuncle use an enkindle that clearly doesn't belong to them?

In regards to Carbuncle, it's because of blatantly obvious reasons. That's not a 'fix' it's a hack, and a poor one at that. The people who are complaining about how their Egi's look are a very vocal minority, and not an accurate representation of the playerbase. It doesn't matter how many pages a forum post goes on for, many comments were made by the same people, and many more don't even post here.

Same issue with Darkside. It's bad design to have a single skill which requires this toggle, and they've already toned it down quite a bit. Again, most people have moved on but there is a vocal number still complaining. You can't just put everything on hold because one guy at the back says 'Oi, my smallclothes are the wrong color'. They have a LOT of development work still in progress, and plan these things months and even years in advance so they can fit it all in.

tl;dr, stop whining. It'll happen eventually.

Contrary to the common belief, XIV does not have a big team especially compare to most mmos, and for the size of XIV.
Every resource needs to be use correctly and make sure the game doesn't suffer from it.

I can't agree on any of these points. The Carbys are easier on production time to include with the pet glamours. As for DRK aura, I can barely see it in bright areas. In combat, it's lost in the void. Only real visual of it is in dark areas.

I don't see anything wrong with the carbies using Aerial Blast or Earthen Fury.

Aerial Blast is just a brief cyclone. Earthen Fury would look fine with the Topaz Carby having the same color.

Unlike their housing "fix", these fixes will actually work. Players will get what they want. It's just untidy from a design standpoint.
