Exclusive Crafter Content

Its unlikely that we are going to change the direction of the game as crafters, but that doesn't mean we should not have some content thrown our way to show appreciation for what we do. That being said I think we deserve some untradable/sellable gear we can craft for ourselves. This thread is for anyone with ideas they want to see implemented.

Here are two of my own.

1- I'd love a chameleon/mimic suit, something where i can just tag a player and copy the Appearance of his gear and change the colors however I choose. It can have limits, perhaps one use a day, effect lasts 1 hour, whatever is needed to get it done.

2- Custom Crafted Equipment, where it is weighted/balanced just for my character. Noone else can use it. In return it gets a special effect similar to a single materia of my choosing.

I'd like to see some custom, untradeable Adventurer gear. Would give people an incentive to level higher level crafters / gatherers / adventurers.

I'm still waiting for that feature way back in 2.1 where they talked about being able to design and make our own Free Company gear.

I thought the only direction they went with that was being able to put your FC crest on any piece of gear?

Designing your own fc gear...any gear tbh would be 1 step in the right direction that se could take.

REALLY would get into that, the current fc logo only is extremely limiting and kinda tacky.

A modified version of 1.0's hamlet will be nice.
- Make supplies during instance
- Repair after instance
- Prepare before instance

What did the hamlet do? I've only been playing about 10 months at this point, and 2.4 came out like a week or two after i joined if i remember right.

Not to sound like an asshole, But I kinda don't want exclusive crafter content >_>, It will only encourage people to take up my craft and then I will have less people to sell stuff to as they will all be able to make what I can make themselves, I want to be useful to other people.
I feel like there is already enough benefit to crafting and I don't see why we need more.

I'd like to be useful to other people as well Alysrea. However, we have lost most of our connection to DoW/DoM. Since this looks to be intentional design choice, I feel there is a need to compensate for that loss.

I'm by no measure a top tier crafter these days, though I did well back when producing a +3 weapon meant something. I don't need gil. What is there to spend it on? Higher level crafting gear, so I can craft the same gear for someone else who will find themselves repeating this cycle? This feeds are own competition.

What I'm really looking for is something to do with my time that involves crafting, and rewards me with something I wouldn't be able to get otherwise.
