the vault
The NM last boss in the Vault is my nightmare. It gives me a lot of lag and so much damage goes out. I'm always wiping on it. Can anyone give some advice to this lil' Scholar on how not to continuously wipe my parties on this boss? I'm fine the whole way through this dungeon and then I get here. They should've called this Tempest Party Killer. =/ I use Eos and redo stone skin when the balls of fire come out.
I'm using all my pretty new spells. Still. It's just not really helpful. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong? Please, please help! I die a little inside when this pops up in my daily leveling thingy. ;~;

If you're lagging (connection or FPS?), there isn't exactly much we can do to help you there.
Vault is just a mechanic check. Other than Altar Pyre (Indom or Succor and/or Whispering Dawn) and the big fireball he throws at the tank (standard single target heals), there's no other big source of damage. If people aren't breaking chains or are getting hit by AoEs/knights, tell them to learn how to dodge - and probably throw a lustrate out.
-
If you're having graphical lag turn down your settings or upgrade your hardware. As for damage going out, there really isn't a lot of it unless your group is bad and runs into avoidable stuff.
-
If you're actively trying to keep the party alive yet still finding them dying, its not you, its them.
No amount of healing in game can handle people standing in fire.
-
- Observe the boss' attack pattern so you know when you'll need to heal.
- Rather than spending time Stoneskinning everyone, I'd suggest helping to kill the orbs to be safe.
- Your party members can make life difficult if they try to ignore mechanics, so watch their behavior.
- Note the arrangement of knights as they spawn in the last phase. Either bait the ground AoEs out of your immediate safe path or move vertically and then horizontally to reposition in the new safe zones.
- Reserve your instant cast heals in the last phase in case people screw up.
-
If you have cleared Urth Fount Synced as a healer, this last boss feels like a breeze.

I've never had a problem healing that boss unless the DPS are dips. Make sure you are AOE healing after every pyre and breaking chains asap. That's all you have to do as a healer outside of normal tank healing.
If people are standing in fire, not breaking chains and walking into knights, you're going to lose and that has nothing to do with you.

With AST had dozens of issues, but still with only an occasional wipe(before the 3.05 AST buffs).
With SCH never really had issue and never wiped when leveled all my way through the vault.
The problems starts coming when people don't avoid aoes, and are getting bleeding debuff, if they get it, it just takes way long time of GCD to dispell and reheal it before another room wide AoE strikes.
As for a SCH what i was doing: Use Eos, place her in the middle so that she doesn't have to be running around and wasting time not using embrace by following you. It doesn't matter if she's on obey or sic much, she does fine there on auto. Holy flames are rather easy to kill, you can kill 2 of them in cleric stance.
For the last phase.. try to have 3 lustrates up, and just do basic heal/adlo thing as regular.
it's challenging for a healer, but it becomes nightmare only when people don't avoid avoidable things.

After the final curtain the boss rotation is always adds > ground aoe > adds > ground aoe > chains, in a nutshell when you see adds, start running and don't stop till you see a ground aoe pop behind you and repeat till boss dies.

THIS WILL BE A HORSEY.
You're not alone, my BF and I both complain about healing this fight. TBH a lot of the difficulty comes from how competent the rest of your team is, because there's loads of damage to be avoided (and plenty that can't). If you can swing it, Adlo a DPS, use Deployment Tactics on them and get everybody that nice big shield before the stupid elf opens his dumb mouth and squeals about sickness needing to be purged. After that it's basically running from chains and horses.
