Thanks for listing in the pre-patch notes and then once again in the real patch notes that Chocobos would have a 12 character limit when it is in fact 10.
Does anyone proofread or double check anything anymore before it goes online?

It's a simple oversight. They originally stated that it would be 10 characters:

I mean I don't think 2 extra characters would do much of anything in terms of names, but it could be a simple oversight on either end (Mechanically or it was later changed but it's not being reflected in game.)
