Ninja bad or ok?
Ninja bad or ok?
Hey guys !
So ive just returned from a 8 month or so break and i just bought the expansion and im rdy to rock once more in FF14 !
I dont rly wanna cont. playing my Paladin as im kinda tired of tanking so i wanna roll a dps and im gonna reroll a new toon to get all the q´s back etc, i should mention aswell that i alrdy have a lvl 50 drg so they arent intresting for me.
So i read some about Ninjas and i rly like theire looks etc BUT all of my old company m8´s says they suck atm? the least wanted class in DF etc etc.... so whats true and whats not?
If nin is out of the picture and drg aint that intresting ( heard there are alot aswell atm ) what is perfoming good atm?
regards!

Ninja are decent. I just came back after a long break as well and main changed to NIN and done all content outside of Alexander. I have had no issues in any DF groups, it isn't as good as DRG dps wise but they do solid DPS and boost everyone else's DPS by 10% for 10s every 60s.

Your old company mate knows nothing of ninjas. Honestly, they are the only class which can provide a 10 second vulnerability debuff to a target and increase the entire raids dps. They also are the only class outside of BRD/MCH which can restore TP to a party member.
Skillful use of their enmity reduction skill can enable the main tank to pull raid bosses in DPS stance to increase dps output as well (no other class can do this either).

I think the most popular raiding comps now generally include a dragoon, a ninja, a warrior, and a dark knight.
I'd have to say that the ideal raid group is probably drk, war, drg, nin, smn/blm, brd/mch, sch, whm.

Ninja are super good for raids right now. With the current heavy focus on DPS, a debuff that adds to everyone's damage is great, as is an ability that restores TP without reducing brd/mch damage. The new aggro transfer skills allow tanks to use more DPS abilities more safely, too.
For dungeons they're kinda average, but who cares about dungeons.

If you can deal with mudra lag if you don't have perfect Internet ninja is awesome. I don't so I recently switched my main to Monk but if you enjoy the fast paced style it can be fun and bring some great dps/utility

Ya I don't get it. Went from being the highest dps (before HW) which is why I went for it to just being ok. And everyone saying- oh they have 10% which I get is nice bonus. But that silly to justify the dps drop when they had TA all a long before HW. In addition, SE included two Argo moves with the skills to 60 to help manage the high dps and I don't get why if the damage is not there over the other jobs now. What a waste. So I can manage other people hate-lame. Totally got it before HW but not now. In addition, the lag with mudra is one of the biggest handicaps and its rewarded with ok dps and little aoe. Surprised this hasn't been a bigger issue on the boards- this job had a lot protential.

from what i got NINs seem to be starving for tp faster than the other DD jobs. especially with a nin in pt one person is fortunate to get goad. the original balance nerf to tp cost now seems to backfire. mudra should be a little less of issue now though, cause futon is mostly a pre fight buff and can be kept up in a another way

Everything is "okay." Asking that question is pointless. If you're a raider then you're looking for the best DPS job of which Ninja is one of them currently due to their supportive skills. If you're not a raider, then it doesn't matter because everything outside of raiding is made completely trivial with ilvl 180+.

Nothing sucks. Ninjas are the tiniest bit behind on MNK/DRG in terms of overall damage, but as has been said they buff ALL outgoing damage by 10% periodically anyway.
