HQ item + dye = still HQ?

Now I made some undyed HQ (+1 and +2) item, I want to perfectly dye it before I wear it. but now I wonder if the dye progress might turn it into NQ?

Did anybody try this yet? Another step of syn would totally change and make it gonna be very hard to have dye item in good quality.

....of course SE would make a totally retarded oversight like this...

I'm guessing that since dyeing is just a craft recipe it will be a brand new item so no HQ guaranteed

on the other hand, you'd have a chance to make an HQ out of an NQ on dyeing!
