A friend that's rejoined the game after a hiatus is wondering why it's now taking him forever to level from level 1? He has to rest every 2-3 mobs and finds the pace nearly intolerable compared to before.
Was this intentional or is he doing something wrong?
He needs to get Cure/Bloodbath/Rampart/Second Wind/Sacrifice then it should be okay to get into the party range, imo.
Party Range? Are people actually grouping though? He's seen nothing of the sort, where would he even go for a group?
Ul'dah or shout, SE said ~lv20 is where you should begin to experience the game (I assume parties and the such)
So level 1-20 are basically solo? And incredibly slow solo at that?
Did you have them try the low rank leves? not sure how EXP is now with the new patch.
He said the low rank leves also give terrible, awful xp. And he has a tough time doing them because he's so squishy/does so little damage.
Oh, I dont know then all my jobs are rank 20+ atm lol >_< Havent gotten a chance to test out the new patch but I'm sure its not balanced all right atm,
Yep, I can confirm this. My level 8 pug couldn't solo r10 leves at 1 star. I couldn't even kill a single mob. I also got 3-shotted by a level 11 marmot. The biggest issue is, my HP at that level is 180. Mobs are hitting me for 20-50 a pop.Heck, even my r22 pug had issues with a 1 star r20 leve. It took me 18 mins to beat 8 mobs, died twice, and got LESS xp per mob than pre-patch. SE really dropped the ball on low levels.
Yes, ranks below 20 are kind of a crapshoot now. Mobs yield less exp, and with the redone stats you have much less HP, defense, and attack power. Expect to rest every 2-3 mobs and don't fight anything more than a level or two above you.
