Idea for measuring DPS "nicely" in game.
We know SE doesn\\'t want a parser in game for reasons that I could argue with, but i won\\'t. However we do need a way for people to measure there performance, the current state of DPS is a sure sign of this.
So let\\'s look at a system that already exists in game: Striking dummies.
They have a set amount of HP, and the more you kill, the more damage you are doing. Do you think it would make sense to have something in gold saucer, or an instance added in which you can set a timer, and try to kill the dummy as many times as possible. Of course it will only take a matter of hours for the math to get finished up and determine X dummies= Y DPS but I imagine this system would take less background work to implement then a full blown parser.
