In ffxi and ffxiv 1.0 there was a command called /item.
You could make macros like
/item "Potion" <me>
And it would use a potion on you. It would be really helpful to see it return to ffxiv so you could macro potions in with cooldowns, or have a macro to use your eternity ring rather than going into your armoury chest to use it. Or even just for fun with fireworks!
