Should all my characters have use DoH and gathering?

I currently play with three characters and I divided the crafting and gathering classes between them.vThey each have 3 crafting classes (although one has 2) and they have one gathering class. This seemed fine at first, but things got complicated when i wanted to use glamor. I wanted one character to use glamor on ilvl 1 glasses, but i needed a Grade 1 goldsmith prism. This particular character doesnt use goldsmith and i didn't want the one who does to have the glasses. Prisms are sold in marketboard, but the prices are absurd, especially with 800 gil fees. The best option would be to have my goldsmith create the prism for the glasses-needing character to use and send it over. But of course, we can't do that. So then i thought that they should all use all crafting jobs, but it seems unnecessary to do that.

And yes, i know i can do everything with one character, but i didn't want to. My three already have a huge investment

You don't have a friend or access to a free company chest? Either of these can swiftly get your alternative character an item you made.

In the event you have access to neither of these, then really it's up to you if you feel the need to grind so many jobs.

Heck you could sell the prism to yourself on the MB for the price of 5% tax (Just buy it in the same area its listed for)

One is in a FC, although i haven't interacted with them a lot. I have two who aren't, but one will create and lead an FC, while the other is completely alone. Can my current FC character can transfer items to the others through the chests? I'm hoping that i wouldn't need to grind so heavily

Why not have all your toons be friends with each other, should be able to mail then.

It doesn't work if the characters are on the same account. Someone has to be logged in in order for you to send them a friend request. So they would need separate accounts and two copies of the game running.

Wasn't aware of that limitation, that sucks.

Your best bet is to get them all into the same FC with chest permissions, RP or not it's really your only choice.

You need to max all the crafting classes on one character for cross class skills if you want to be a competent crafter. If you don't care about that though I don't see a problem with what people have already suggested.

I will never understand the multiple character players, so much effort and issues just to repeat content. a bunch of masochist. lol
