Currently, if we speak in a linkshell we move our lips as if speaking normally. Wouldn't it be better if we held our hand to our ear and spoke for a bit? It would let us see who is doing what in raid/party for one and it would make more sense then just talking at nothing.
Sounds like a waste of time to me.
I look at my party to see who's talking lmao.
It'd be kind of awkward for au ra, since they don't have ears.
The animation for this is already in the game and your character and Minfilia are both capable of using it. It would require no more than half a dozen lines of code to assign it to /linkshell chat.
It improve the RP element in the game. I am for it.
I think I'd rather this as an /emote than an actual append to the existing 'talk with chat' option we have already. Maybe combine it with /kneel like Raubahn did in that one ARR cutscene (yes, I know it was an MGS joke, but still...).
It would be pretty jarring having my hand fly up to my ear every time I said something into one of my linkshells. Especially since moving or doing anything else besides standing stock-still would interrupt the motion. I'd rather it be, as someone else already suggested, an emote.
