First off I'd like to start off with I don't know if this has ever been suggested before, if it has please point me in the right direction.
With that out of the way I came up with this idea after riding around on one of my primal ponies. The basic idea is that there would be an item that could change the BGM for the interior of a house with either a piece of furniture or an interior fixture.
Since housing is mostly based around the glamour of it all, I just think being able to change the back ground music in some way would add to the level of ambiance people put into their homes, like a moogle themed home playing the thornmarch bgm, or an ice themed home playing shiva's music.
What would you guys think of this?

I believe the devs have spoken about implementing something like this, though it was a long time ago.

Is it only me or the BGM on Housing area only suit well on Mist than other place?

A jokebox was supposed to be added with 3.0 or so... they promised that for quite a while already (somewhen around 2.2 or so?) and I really, really would like to see an option for that! I wouldnt mind to get drops from certain dungeons/trials to get the music playing in our home... the music from all those events would be great too!

NY: Actually, there is a feature called Orchestrium (slightly unsure if that is the exact name), where you can choose the current BGM (Background Music) and you can switch to what you want to listen to. We are working on it already, and we have a concept already. However, we currently must focus on so many things, so it will be pushed back a little bit. We won’t be able to make patch 3.1, but we are working on it.
