Thank you for making the "Bomb Dance" emote available. However..

I'm glad there's finally a way to get the "Bomb Dance" emote for those (like myself) who weren't here to participate in the event the last time around. Obviously I would have preferred to see it and various other past rewards be available through in-game events rather than the cash shop. However, assuming you're determined to release these items as microtransactions, I think I'd prefer it if you used the method ArenaNet used for GW2 instead.

ArenaNet allowed players to purchase past/expired GW2 "living storyline" events for a minor fee. In this way, players who missed these events were able to experience them (and earn the rewards through in-game methods) even after the event period had ended. Like I said, I'm happy to finally have access to the "Bomb Dance" emote, but I would have liked to have experienced the event surrounding it firsthand with my character. With the use of instancing and phasing (something FFXIV already uses), one would think ArenaNet's method would be applicable here.

Another example: I had a lot of fun with the "Fleece Force" event some months back, and you'll probably eventually sell the rewards from that event (i.e. the lamb minion and various sheep helms) in your cash shop. However, I think it's a shame that new players won't be able to experience the work and humor that went into that content as it was originally presented.

Wouldn't it be cool if they still could? If you're going to (hypothetically) eventually sell the lamb minion and sheep helms through your cash shop, why not sell that entire quest event as a package as well? Perhaps priced as a cheaper alternative, since players will still have to put in the effort in-game to earn those rewards (in-game), while also retaining the option to purchase the rewards outright for those who could care less about the story.

Anyway, just a suggestion. Will the Lightning event items also eventually make their way to the cash shop?

I think the main issue is that most of the events involved FATEs... which aren't instanced content.

Yes, but like battlecraft guildleves it's certainly within their ability to limit access on open-world content to particular individuals.

Suggestion:
Haunted Room (I do not want to name it "Holodeck")
- its a special instance where you buy something from cash shop to be able to enter.
- depending what you have bought it will change its form and you can replay the event.

As sidenote: seasonal for me means "each year", i dont like how SE makes it only "once" in lifetime...

For the love of The Twelve, don't give them more ideas on how to monetise content! I understand that you want to relive the events, and why wouldn't you, but we should be campaigning to get them into the game for free and not as an additional charge.

Square do listen at times (the Cash Shop was a user request) and they seem big on nostalgia. If enough requests are made to repeat fates it may happen, just not after of a year. Unfortunately many people require immediate satisfaction and this is what fuels the "throw money at it" culture.

But if SE is determined to release these items as microtransactions (and so far that seems to be the case), I'd prefer them selling access to the actual event (and the rewards that come with it) instead of/in addition to just selling the rewards alone. A "bomb dance" sold alone is just an emote, but given as the result of an event it's more meaningful (at least to silly ol' me).

I don't understand why people keep telling me how to spend my money. I would welcome the lightning hair to the shop with open arms, where I would happily splash my paper all over Square's face.

Your "mission" against all things monetized doesn't work when there are many of us out there who have no issue paying for extra, completely aesthetic, content.

I can't agree with you more OP. I really don't care that an emote from last years event is $2 in the cash shop, as long as it's available for me as a new player to the game.

But I am upset that I'll never experience the events, dialog and such from past events even if I have the items from them. I saw a video of the Dragon Quest crossover quest with the pafu-pafu massage and loved the humor but it's upsetting that I'll never be able to experience it outside of youtube.

It saddens me to know there is certain quests in the game I will never experience because I didn't play the game in the past and I would be happy to spend $5 or so to be able to experience them with instances.
