Summoner glmours

Hi guys i just started playing an summoner class trying to get to heavensward.
Trying my best to stay optimistic after the extreme disappointment of no new egis some people on this board said there is a glamour system coming. When i hope they don't make us wait awful long time. I watched a youtube video of Ramuh boss fight and to a guy that loves lightning magic it was the most beautiful lightning animations i ever seen but it also makes me mad for two reasons first with the blackmage. Their so called thunder spell looks gimp compared to Ramuh's gorgeous bolts from the sky. Heck the Ninja's Raiton looks cooler. And the other issue i have is during that fight he summoned what looked like egis i was yelling at the screen lord levin has my :EGI:. So i ask what is taking so long with the Ramuh egi glamour does the Dev team want us to have it in 2045:confused:

They are creating animations and other effects needed for the new glamours. Any new or existing model that will be able to replace a current Egi in looks, will need to be able to perform all actions the current egi does. Can't give a timeline obviously, because I don't know their schedule, but maybe we'll hear/see something for gamescom... at least an update maybe.

Well the next Live Letter is on August 22nd as part of the 14 hour video stream to mark FFXIV's two year anniversary. So if we do not see/hear anything at Gamescom, then hopefully this Live Letter will prove more fruitful. On a side note though I do recall in a previous interview with Yoshi-P, he stated that he understood people were unhappy with the visual design of the current three Egi and would take that into account when designing future Egi. So perhaps the reason for an extended development time is coz they are planning on making more detailed Egi.

Q: In Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XXI, you mentioned a system that would let us change the looks of summoner’s egi. Can you please tell us your progress on this?
A: We mentioned this one month before the release of Heavensward. Since then, we have been finalizing Heavensward and we’re currently working on adjustments for jobs, so we haven’t been able to address this just yet. We need to create effects for all the egi actions when their appearance changes, so it’ll require some time. We still have to decide whether we'll add these as we’re done with each one, or add them all at once, so please give us some more time.

This is not actually new info. This is an extract from the 23rd Live Letter which was last month. The latest Live Letter is not until the 22nd August. So hopefully they can reveal more on the Egi glamours then.
