Does anything at 60 (like alex) need preformed parties only and not DF?

Just wondering as I'm at ilvl 158 right now working my way to 170. I play casually, so not into being with a group that plays often and not into using team speak etc kind of shy rather play at my own place. Just wondering can I just use duty finder once I'm at 170 to do alex or does it require a pre formed party to do it and either way is team speak required for some of it or am I okay without?

You will need preformed parties for Alex and the new EX primals. As for chat, that is up to the group. You could start your own party and set the base rules.

The HW Ex primals and Alex Savage are for pre-formed parties only, normal/story-mode Alex (at i170) is accessible in the DF. TS makes things easier, but it's not required for a clear.

The only thing you can't DF at level 60 currently is Bismarck Ex, Ravana Ex, and Alex Savage. Unless you have already completed these instances, using TS is not a bad thing even if you're shy. You don't even have to say a word. Join a TS if they require it, just listen, and respond by typing ingame.

Everything else, you wouldn't need TS for and can be completed without. It also helps if you watched guides before hand, since you don't have a regular to do things with.

Hi there! I was like you pre heavensward. Im very shy (admittedly insecure) so I only used df and never used pf. As the above poster said alex normal is accessible through the df after ilvl170. I do, however, recommend you give pf a shot for some stuff like Bismarck ex. I know it can be scary. I personally just didn't want to be subjected to verbal abuse. I suggest joining or making learning parties. These tend to be more chill and forgiving of people that arent top tier. Anyone that rages in a "learning" party pretty much has only themself to blame (if you dont have the patience to help new people why did you join a learning party). Ive cleared bis ex and am working on ravana ex all through the pf never once needing TS or any kind of voice chat. Plus ive made some friends! Good luck

Great thanks so much, glad to hear alex normal doesn't need preformed as I just figured it's less fun to play if I always have to deal with forming a party as I'm more the type that it's like "Oh I have 30 mins maybe I'll just do a raid quick" or something like that. Not super shy about doing dungeons, more about voice chat on TS so that's not much my thing.

While you don't need a preformed for Alex normal, it's a huge crapshoot outside Tuesdays. After the reset the PF is filled with the good players, who get their drop and don't queue again for the next 6 days.

I find the last day before reset has some decent players it's like a lot of people either get it done on day one or the last day before reset for last drops they need. Saturday and Sunday I find are the absolute worst days on EU servers it feels like a lot of kids who aren't particularly good play on these days and there is always a shouting match.
