Another hows my dps thread

I'm getting frustrated with my class mainly because I'm not hitting the numbers I'm reading I should be. I'm currently i185 with a 180 law weapon, my average parse on a dummy is about 1095. I think my high was 1121. But I'm reading mid 1200's on here. The thing is from what I can tell I'm doing the rotation fairly perfectly each time. It's got me leveling monk lol. Which actually pretty fun so there's that. So I guess this thread boils down into two questions: am I parsing low? in your average fight which is the more capable dps, drg or monk?

So are you saying 1095 sounds about right for that weapon and ilvl?

1100 is a good place to be at lvl 180 with a ravana weapon. The range will vary depending on the fight but (1050 - 1150) is a good place to be. I would reccomend upgrading your weapon first and foremost as that is the biggest influence on direct damage. If you are unable to get a ravana weapon you should be saving for the esoterics weapon. Upgrading your weapon is the most important thing for a dps. I dont think your parse is bad but yes you could be doing more damage. It could be due to many things tho so it's hard to address without knowing all of your equipment and seeing you parse.
Off hand I would say definitely
-get a higher lvl weapon. (damage weight of upgrades for main stat is typically weapon > chest/pants > head/hands/feet > belt/accessories)
-make sure you have the accuracy and that you aren't missing any hits. (around 590 depending on the fight)
-make sure you are keeping up heavy thrust and dots at all times, not clipping your gcd or dots, and utilizing ogcd moves on refresh
-eat food and use potions in your rotation
-practice as much as possible so that your rotation is tight and second nature.
