Is there any point ...

In leveling my crafts to 60 now? I got Alc to 50 like a week before and am slowly getting all my other crafting classes to at least 50 (I'm doing it the slow way -- carp is the only one I'm trying to get to 50 ahead of the rest.) They're all over level 30, but still, I'm not power leveling or anything.

Now I read on the forums that crafting is terrible, terrible, hide-under-your-bed bad. I'm not rich (about 200k atm) and don't have my gatherers up at all (the highest is in the 20s.) So am I just wasting my time here trying to level my crafters? I like crafting but I never got into the endgame crafting stuff because HW was released so soon after I started. XD~

Am I wasting time and my (non-existant) gil on basically nothing?

If you like it then why not, it's enjoyable and that's the goal of a game. If you are looking for gil you'd better lv up your DoL first, this funding is too low in today's inflation.

I wouldn't say I'm in love with crafting, else I'd be power leveling it like all get out. Sometimes I hate it (when RNG hates me), other times it's kinda fun. It's kind of 'eh' to me as a whole. XD I've never made any of the endgame gear either. I guess I kind of feel hesitant about it all now, after reading all the threads on the subject.

If youre not planning to crafted the latest recipes, its like always. Only the 2 star stuff is gated behind weekly caps.
Since you just started crafting now, i dont suppose you want to compete or get the best crafting gear asap, so getting to level 60 can still be enjoyable and beneficial to you. Once you get everything to level 60 the cap will probably be lifted or at least eased.

Youre not wasting gil if you dont powerlevel your crafts. Its slow, but if you get most of your own mats and refine it with crafting you can make quite some gil while leveling slowly.
