Freezing and shutting down computer

I have a computer with Windows 7 that was built two years ago by my boyfriend in FL. I was able to play FF14 perfectly fine when I used it last summer and this summer at his place. After my last visit, I had it shipped via UPS to my home here in PA. Now I can't get FF14 to work. After the character screen, it starts to load the world ( Zalera ) it freezes and my computer shuts down. It also froze and shut down on the opening cinema when I let the main menu screen run too long. At first I thought it was my internet since I thether from my phone ( I don't have access to wifi ) but I've read that others can playing the game while thethering with 3g so it can't be that. My boyfriend thinks something inside must have gotten damaged between his place and mine but I'm not sure because it runs everything else just fine, it only messes up with FF14 ( and Origin but that's a matter of my internet ). Some suggestions would be appreciated because I really want to play the game again! I finally got my lalafel to lvl 50 and I'd like to start playing Heavensward.
