Pet glamor -

They told me next expansion ... well here we are ...

Since the only other models available now are the Carbuncles, could you just clone the spells, tweak the Carbuncles' attack potency to match their Egi cousins, and give them to SMN - i.e. 2 additional spells to summon the Carbuncles that will perform exactly like their Egi counterparts.

After the whole pet glamor system is up and running, you can remove it.

Player Housing -

I have no idea what your long term solution is or even if you have thought of one.

How about just giving players instance housing for the time being. When you work out some neighborhood system that scales properly then just "move" the instance house data into the plots.

Isolated house is better than no house.

I'm not sure why they didn't go instanced housing plots to begin with. The housing system in FFXIV is an absolute disaster. I've seen AMAZING housing systems in games that were far inferior to XIV (*coughEverQuest2cough*) which all used instanced housing systems. There's really no excuse for this.

Instanced housing = everyone gets a house = more stress on server data limitations.
We cannot even have TP bars with numbers because of server data limitations (they are going to add TP bars to party window without them) as Yoshi stated in live letter. Almost every limitation that FFXIV has is always related to this server data problem.
If they expanded servers or started compressing data in some efficient way we could probably have instanced housing.

Then...why not improve the servers? For what I've seen the issue is that server has "this", server has "that" and this seems to be one of the most recurring issue since (re)launch.

And it's not that it's a very limited case: a lot of people are demanding this improvement on housing (and other related things too, mind you), but it kinda surprises me that they never actually bothered to improve it for real. I -heard- it's because of ps3 holding the ps4 and pc down and even though I don't know the true extent of this problem, the problem still does exist regardless: data is limited, and has been limited for quite a while apparently.

And considering the game has quite a large playerbase, I just wonder how long players can be patient on said improvements.

I have heard it is because SE saves our character data every few seconds to avoid rollbacks.
I wouldn't really mind if they saved our data every 5 minutes or even 15 if it meant we wouldn't have to hear the same excuse every time we ask them to improve something.

Well to be fair Character data for FFXIV is larger than many other MMOs due to being able to play every job/class on one character.

Also I don't expect any major upgrades to the servers until they complete the transition of moving the EU data centre to the EU.

Yes, I understand that is the number 1 priority and it is fine. I have 110ms with WTfast and 150 without it.
Also if they have new infrastructure for EU servers it might mean, that we will have more data space when they start the EU data servers. :)
