Sch Tips of SA1 (Help me to improve)

So I need some help getting insight here. (I want to better myself.)

On most videos I've seen a SCH + WHM duo where SCH is aggressive dding while popping out for preys.

But then for my group the whm claims that he can't handle all that damage alone. That he needs me from start to finish as pure healing. So I get confused since friends with win say whm is possible to solo heal as long as I help on double pray and tank buster.)

Then I've heard that people have been clearing if SCH dps till split and heals the rest of the way...
Basically I just want to know what is the best way to approach this fight. (Furthest progression we've had is to 2nd jump me just healing (extra help on double prey/virus on non drk tank add)

Right now how we handle the fight is I handle the war tank and 2 dd on the south edge with him. When they get preys I handle them. if double whm assists me calling out who he will help. Vice Versa if double prey is on his dd.
Also have Selene out during first part -> swap to eos after.

Sch Dps alone for Phase one untilsplit. Then succors and manages their own tankand takes their tank and prey target while succoring for Guneery and virus before prey.After tank buster and tankistopped off they apply dots and prepare for jump.Rise and repeat.

I cleared A1S filling in for a static so I didn't know the WHM at all, we decided that I (sch) would heal the warrior and whm the PLD. After a few hours of prog we got the hang of each other and determined to meet the dps check the WHM solo healed until the 2nd boss comes out. After that I already had an idea when the warrior would take damage so I would dps inbetween and I knew that after the green slime, the bosses would laser then aoe then double prey. So I would time a succor and Indom to help top everyone off while the WHM do their then as well. This helped because We would call out who of the two preys we would cover and at the same time make sure our tanks were healed as well.

If you think about it You're only healing two people at that point. Make sure Selene is helping heal your prey target and after and adlo (pre prey) and 2-3 physic I would Virus, then switch to the tank to make sure they were topped off. Once we got in that groove it was just rinse and repeat.

AS1 teaches the "main healer" (AoE heals & respective tank & healer pair heals) prioritization & reliance on precasting heals and figuring out when you can ignore healing people (or rely on HoTs) to safely top people off. I'm not sure what your White Mage is doing, but its either inefficient healing, slow at healing (thus putting them behind several GCDs in healing) or your group (or White Mage) is positioned poorly so that not everyone is getting hit by AoE heals.

Divine Seal, Asylum and Tetragrammaton give a lot of breathing space, so I'm not quite sure why s/he is having an issue.

But anyways, the only thing you can really do is just Emergency Tactics Succor (or just Succor) the double AoE that happens around the 1:12 mark. Rouse should be used to aid your WHM friend... I guess you could use Lustrate if they dip low. Personally speaking though, I'd prefer if my SCH burn through 6 flows of Aetherflow on Energy Drain to meet DPS checks, and even Dissipation for more before the split :x, lol.

Thank you for this thread! I have really moving towards improving my own performance in AS1.

Granted I don't have my SCH to 60 yet, but if anything, until your WHM gets used to healing alone you can always stance dance inbetween heals to get out a Bio II/Bio on the boss before switching back. Weaving Lustrate too is good in case the WHM is really that bad. Granted this is a tip from 2.xx but still a good one. Try it out and see if the little bit extra DPS helps while the WHM learns to be a big boy/girl and solo heal.
