Crashing on Windows 10
I recently upgraded to windows 10 and at first I was trying to run the game in directx9 mode but would get a black screen on the main menu and only hear the menu music. Now when I try to load up 14 it just crashes altogether, I don't if anyone else is having this problem but some suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you.

I have had no issues while playing on DX11 with my windows 10. I did a clean install of WinX though and reinstalled FFXIV as well. You may have to do the same.
-
The crashing problem has been resolved for me but I still can't play in directx9 mode and I would like to because directx11 lowers frame rate. If this is on Squares end then i shall wait but if there is something I could do about it that would be awesome.

I shall download them but out of curiosity what do they do exactly?

Do you really have less performance on dx11 than dx9? What gfx card do you have? That should be impossible, unless you have maybe a onboard card....
Try to update you gfx card drivers too, windows 10 dont do it after the update
-
I am a gaming laptop as opposed to a desktop but my graphics card is a GT 750M and I believe I did update my drivers but not 100% I'll check that again.
-
I'm still on 7, so I haven't been able to reproduce the bug: have you tried running the game in compatibility mode?
You might also consider the DirectX end-user runtime installer (some older games add that automatically).
-
I did trying changing the compatibility mode it and it didn't help but I don't know what you are referring to when you talk about the end user runtime installer. Link possibly?
Update: Drivers are all taken care of and the crashing problems are gone. To anyone else have this issue the crashing is because Nvidia did not have proper drivers ready for windows 10 so some people were having issues and getting BSOD, if you do have that problem anyone reading this uninstall your drivers and do a clean install from nvidia's website. So FF 14 is working for me now but I still get only a black screen if I try to Directx9 if anyone knows I way to fix that part that would be awesome. Also no changing the compatibility mode did not help.
