lv30 Arcanist Quest Help

I did post this somewhere else but I need all the help I can get. I'm stuck on the lv30 Arcanist Quest. I want to become a Scholar as soon as possible, but can't if I can't get past this. I've tried 5 times so far. Changing my main class from Dragoon to Scholar.

I got Obey on my bar, using Topaz. Using Miasma, Bio II, Aero, and Ruin. Have Protect, using Food, but there is none that helps with Intelligence. I try to heal, but really it doesn't help if it doesn't even heal much of the girl and her carbuncle's health. The girl just keeps dying failing my duty. This is giving me more trouble than Lancer.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Will keep trying in the mean time.

Is it the one on the ship? If so you need to aggro almost everything also let your pet change target and aggro whereever you can...iirc... also if you heal to much they overrun you.

Topaz is surely the right pet for it.

Does Topaz have AoE at 30? I can't remember when he gets it, work blocks most sites.

If Topaz is on Obey, he won't AoE unless you command it, which you didn't say anything about. You'll need to get everyone on Topaz, use Sic on anything attacking the girl until they stop attacking her.
