The problem with Airships

There is a problem with the Airships. Basically its only for FC leaders to play a little mini game where you send out the airship and profit from it.

While us people with our own house miss out. Something should be done so everyone can send out their own personal airship its a more advanced version of retainer adventures but I sure many would like to play around with Airships but I can't because its something really only the FC leader can do.

What about those of us without a personal home? Not all of us have the luxury of having both an FC home AND and personal home, taking up 2 slots on the server. I'ts been over a year since any new housing has been added. They should add new housing before adding features only current home owners can access.

Well it shouldn't be tied to housing in the first place but it is. It just seems kind of bad for like 1 guy in a whole FC gets to play with airships while the rest of the people don't ever get a chance unless they make their own FC.

Its not a mini game, its simply a menu. It basically sending a retainer out on a venture. You wouldnt say that your missing out on something if your retainer went on ventures automatically would you ?

We'll be able to board them as a party in 3.1, also, pretty sure they said you dont have to be in the FC to ride on an FC's airship.

Maybe you should join a FC where the leader isn't the only one who sends out the airships? That access can be assigned to any FC rank. We share airship duty in our FC, from assembly of parts to mission launch.

That's the thing, some companies want the materials that the ships bring back, and some would prefer to sell them. If everyone in the company has access to the ships, then the ventures would be canceled, company credits would get wasted, and some players would simply destroy the ship either accidentally or just because they can. I know in my company the leaders have been the only people contributing to the building of things, and therefore no one but the top four ranks have access. The materials that are brought back are only for more company crafting stuff, maybe some low grade materia. There's really nothing to "play with" at this point.

I like the idea of being able to have a small workshop in personal house (even if limited to one ship).

Airship ventures is the only source for very important mats used to craft best housing items and these mats are certainly not going to be given to regular FC members, even if said members are housing enthusiasts.

Still, I disagree with "it's for FC leaders only".

You can try to get the right to launch airship by actively donating to workshop.
You can also ask FC leader to let you launch the ship once to see that it's nothing special.

it's not a mini-game, it's not fun, it's more of a task that someone is burdened with than anything else.

i asked to do it once and i'm glad i don't have to do it again.

Honestly, anyone who actually contributes to my company have more permissions overall. Airships and company crafting in general can get pricey/mat intensive. Why should someone who hasn't helped at all get to have access to it? When people actually help, they gain my trust as a FC leader and I give them promotions(which come with permissions obvs). As it stands, the three leaders of my company have done 100% of the work for the airship, and one other member comes in for the phase part where you have to be in a party.
