Why are we still not able to convert gear for T5 Gathering/Crafting Materia? As if the gating wasn't bad enough, we're still forced to transmute for T5 Gathering/Crafting materia? I do not understand.

I'm curious to know this myself. Also anyone who's transmuted for a while, what is your usual rate of getting any V? I've done 400 or so in the past 2 days and haven't seen a V of any kind :(
This is baffling.
If I were to guess, it's around a 5% chance based on my experience. That said, I've gotten 5 of them and only one was crafting. It wasn't a bad trade off or awhile because tier 4 crafting and gathering materia was still decently pricey and I got them fairly often. Now the prices have dropped a lot and it's hard to justify.
I have done a little over a hundred transmutes and I have only gotten one T5 materia looking at the cost versus benefit it's hard to justify it. :/ But I like to gamble so I will still do it. Plus I am saving all my high level spirit bonded gear for when they finally put it in.
I guess I've been more on the lucky side. Transmuted about 300-400 grade 4 materia and gotten a comp V, cunning V, and an earth V
My first ever shot at Goblin lottery netted me a Heavens Eye V which sold for 1.1M lol.
This.
I'm very curious to see what will happen when/if they add crafted DoW/M 2-star accessories. Right now, it takes 4 Tier IV stat materias and a Tier III. Which leaves 0 slots for any secondary stats. If they include i170/180 crafted gear... I don't think we can hit the cap w/o Tier V materia... which let's face it... being available only through transmutation is a bit lame.
I have a really bad feeling that tier v crafting/gathering materia will be available later by converting i170 gear or perhaps the i150 gear, but at a low conversion rate.
After all, the i170 pieces don't really require grade v materia to be at least on par with the i180s.
