Why does Enochian have to be a pain in the neck?

You can have a badass BLM rotation, then mechanics start to get thrown around, and next thing you know Enochian falls off leaving you stuck with your 2.0 rotation for 30secs. It's really annoying.

Why does Enochian have to be on a timer? Is it to give blizzard 4 a reason to live? Would it be op if Enochian was a toggle instead, but the down side would be that it up's the cost of spells by 10 or 15%.

It adds "depth" to the class.

But honestly, everytime I'm in a fight that barely let's me finish a cast before I have to sprint off somewhere again for the next 17 seconds, my hate for the timer on enochian just grows ._.

Every class has something that can fall off with alot of movement or mechanics, this is blms.

nin lost huton? massive dps loss

I would agree with you if it wasn't for the fact that drg and nin can refresh their buffs while moving, but BLM have to sit still for a couple of seconds. It has gotten so bad that from time to time I say "fk it," and just soak the aoe so that I can refresh enochian.

It's just complexity for the sake of complexity. Your highest tier fire and ice spells in 2.0 could just be cast normally. So they had to make things more complex. Now to do the same old stuff (casting your best fire / ice spells) you have to jump through a bunch of hoops. That's complexity for the sake of complexity.

It doesn't add anything to the job; it's just making you work harder for the same effect. It's a change to keep you busier, not necessarily a change meant to be more interesting.

Honestly, the devs should just remove enochain. The recent "fixes" did nothing to address any of the real issues with Enochain.

Requiring Astral Fire to cast while not refreshing Astral Fire is MORE than enough restriction to be placed on Fire 4. Bliz 4 can just be the new Bliz 3, OR keep enochain as is, use it as a damage buff, but remove it as a requirement to cast Fire 4 and use Bliz 4 as a means to refresh it.

Enochain is an unnecessarily convoluted mechanism that is unreasonably punishing to juggle with astral fire/umbral ice when all these fights require movement and dealing with mechanics.

Especially when BLM is punished so much for moving and constantly being interruped at the last possible miliisecond due to the naure of casting - because enochain/astral fire/umbral ice timer ran out before the last possible instant of the cast completed.

...OR some DPS murdered the add you were targeting and interrupted you, OR the boss jumped away and you lost timers, OR you got quarantined OR someone pulled hate and ran the mob across your line of vision and interupted you OR you pulled hate, got smacked in the face and got interrupted OR 856 other ways a blm can get boned in the natural course of a fight.

It's too much. This needs to change.

I can maintain enochian with 100% up time in most fights, savage included (at A3 savage atm). Learn how to utilize swiftcast a bit better and learn when its time to bite the bullet and end a fire chain early, that's really all there is to it.

BLM is fine, it doesnt need to be easier, it functions and is a good performer and tops the parse in plenty of fights, depending on comp.

No. Sorry. "Get good" is not the correct answer. Neither is "BLM is fine."

It's not even really a question of whether or not it is possible. It certainly is with very rigid timing. But it is most certainly not reasonable, relative to other DPS, nor is it necessary. Two rigid buff timers as a prerequisist to cast one spell is more than a bit silly.

the enochian QOL fix solved the problem, it isn't hard. We are no longer gated by the enochian timer. So yes... it is "GIT GUD" If i can consistently keep it going in nearly every fight (every fight if you skip A1 jumps, screw those, but this can be made up for with planning) then so can anyone else. Get better, practice. Stop expecting the devs to make the game easier because you can't do it.
