Server transfer to Excalibur

When I look at all the servers to choose from when it asks "please state your destination world" all the servers come up except Excalibur. Is it impossible to transfer? Currently in Balmung

Excal might be under one of those Chara creation limitations. If its not avail at one point in time try another point. Otherwise it might be locked.

So I have to just keep checking and hope for the best?

Sadly yes. Alternatively try making a chara on the server. You don't need to finish in the chara creation just make sure you can create on Excal. If you can and can't still transfer then perhaps a ticket to SE might be in order.

Moving from one full bus to another full bus...
I'm not sure which datacenter group Excal is in, but it might be that you can't transfer there because it's full.

Excalibur is on the primal data center. I transferred there 4 days ago.

The only problem I can see is that you have the "Entry" Subscription (which allows 1 character to be made on each server). If you already have a character on excalibur, then there you go. Delete the character and try again.

just move when server just came online after a server maintenance.

This was my exact issue. Wish they had it in the instructions that you must have a free character slot. Or list all worlds and when you click confirm give an error message saying you had no slots available. Is just confusing when it's just not listed. :(

excalibur stays full. it will have a few openings every now and then, but you just have to keep an eye out for one and jump on it when you see an opening. best times are early am and right as the servers come back up from maintenance.
