What does a DRK want in a party?

I'm getting ready to start leveling SCH again, but I was thinking about it, and I'm interested to hear from actual DRK mains: What do you like in a party? I mean composition-wise.

As a War, I tend to like a WHM for pure healing power and the occasional group-stun-chaining, a Ninja to keep up that sweet slashing debuff, and a MCH for the neat TP-turret that lets me be dumb about overpowers- not to mention the lack of threat. Though with my boyfriend running Astro lately I'm warming up to that a lot, too.

What's your dream team if you're a Dark Knight?
Hell, Paladins can answer too if you want.

Edit: Since nobody's reading my replies, I'll put it here for you: I know it would be more efficient for me to put the debuff on. You know who doesn't know that? Any ninja in the Aether cluster; they distrust my purpley axe icon and suspect it of treason. I will never convince them to let me do it for as long as I and they draw breath. I've simply come to terms with this and stopped fighting it.

4-man: competent people.
8-man: competent people.

Dream team for 8-man would be like WAR DRK SCH WHM* NIN DRG SMN MCH, which is my static's comp. High burst opener (Trick+Litany+Hypercharge). Between NIN/DRG, one can be subbed out for a MNK.

*Have not played much with ASTs in raids.

On a side note: Why would you want a NIN to apply the slashing debuff when YOU, the WAR, should be applying it?

1. Ninja's Dancing Edge is the lowest potency out of the three options they have.
2. Storm Edge and Butcher Block combos are WAR's highest potency combos.

Also if you have a NIN he can Goad you without having the MCH sacrifice its turrets pulse AoE for your TP regen.

Oh, I know! I know for certain. But in all the many many dungeons, trials and raids I've run, I've never ever managed to convince a Ninja to let me apply it instead. I always see my icon up for three seconds before they replace it with theirs. I wanna be useful, but they won't let me! So if they're gonna do it anyway, I might as well make use of it.

Some people set it so that only their debuffs display on the mob, so it could be that.

As for what I like as a DRK, a SMN and just someone to give me some TP. NIN, MCH, new AST Spire, whatever. Having a 60 SMN myself, I like it when I have a SMN in the group when I'm tanking because all the groups of regular enemies die that much faster.

Man, preferential Summoners. Never thought I'd see the day; this expansion was nice to them. I agree though, they clean up!

In my opinion, in 4 mans: DRK, BRD, SMN and any healer (SCH pref I guess)

BRD sings Foe's boosting EVERYONE's DPS (DRK's AoE is magic), SMN obliterating things and SCH adding AoE DPS. Trash mobs should disappear in seconds.

Yeah, they fixed my one issue with SMN which was it was very boring when aetherflow was gone. Between Dreadwyrm Trance and Tri-Disaster, SMN isn't so boring anymore. And Alexander floor 2 is like the most fun thing ever in the game for a SMN. Wave after wave after wave of delicious packs of enemies grouped up for that AoE damage.

I'm beginning to go the path of Paladin (coming from BRD, WHM, and NIN), and I must say that I am completely neutral with who comes to the party. I tried WAR, and I like how it play, but my survival rate is extremely low on that job; I seem to live longer as a PLD.

Since I have no Heavensward access, I am still doing previous content. So far, I have NOT partied with a DRK yet during my Primal runs, so I'd like to witness their tanking prowess from a distance.
