Mac Client - will not open launcher after fresh install

I recently had to reinstall the Mac Client. Prevoiusly, it worked fine.

Now, while it installs correctly, after clicking the icon in launchpad, a window from "CoreServicesUIAgent" says pops up saying "verifying final fantasy xiv" - then that completes and nothing happens.

any idea what causes this?

system specs:
imac late 2013
processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5
memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2048 MB

FYI -I figured out how to fix this! If anyone ever runs into this same issue, it can be corrected by doing the following:

1) Go to system preferences -> general
2) Under "Allow apps downloaded from" - select 'Anywhere'

Save these changes & it will correct the issue.
