SE, please let me see gathering points!

This is something that's bugged me from day 1. On the compass map, the icon for FATEs is on the top level. Icons for gathering are a layer below and, if in the same place, are often completely obscured. This really needs to be switched.

First off, the gathering icons are smaller, so they won't cover up the FATE icon.

Second, the gathering icons are only visible if you are on that gathering job. If you want a FATE, you are on a battle class and the gathering icons won't even be visible.

A small thing I know but one that would make a big difference in quality of gatherers' lives.

This has annoyed me too, I would love for it to change.

Instead of moving the layers, I would prefer a filter that we can turn stuff on and off on the minimap. I rarely do FATEs and it would be better if I didn't need to see them.
