How to make PvP more appealing for healers?

Thread title.
There are no healers in PvP! Well, there are... You know the deal: Many a time you're stuck with a no heal team. You go out do your best. To little avail. It often turns the whole alliance down.

Is it "fixable", or is it good as it is? From the top of my head I can think of maybe nerfing healing power in pvp to render healers as damage dealers/enhancers. But, idunno, it would kinda remove the charm of healing. Healers would be target less that way however. Which I guess is the gist of the problem noone want to heal.

cuz it sucks to be a healer in a pvp enviroment with fell cleave and deathflare levels of burst going around.

I don't know why they don't just introduce a PvP Exclusive Cleric Stance, which is more balanced than the PvE version. Like it has a long CD, or allows you to heal nearby people for the damage you do to a target for a short period of time (20s or something). Just give us something to defend ourselves in dire situations, like an AoE virus like move... because the AoE action slow doesnt affect OGCD moves.

IDK it's just a mess, I'm a main healer and I just feel like I don't want anything to do with PvP, if I could just heal at least some what through this burst fest I'd be happy, it's like in such a bad state right now, worse than WoW MoP PvP...

One thing to consider is a lot of people have a healer as an alt, and just haven't gotten around to leveling it up from 50 yet. I leveled both tanks and both healers specifically for pvp, and I plan to bring whm over in time. That 50-60 grind is brutal!

I've seen ppl go in as a 60 whm heal for a min or so then go like nope then swap to a dps. They clearly have a geared 60 healer but instead they noped out and went dps for the remainder of the fight. Same goes for schs lol.

I would say add a healer-only achievement to frontlines. Slaughter introduced a kill-counter achievement where healers can't really get so there's less incentive to heal. Maybe if there was an achievement where they healed x amount of HPs (would have to be quite large) you get some sort of exclusive item / mount / title then more healers would pop up...and actually heal.

when you take away their toys, it makes the job less fun to play. as a result you are taking the appeal away from many of the great healers so they have become a very rare sort. furthermore when you decline to give special rewards for one of the most in demand jobs and instead give them to tanks, it makes it even worse.

SE has done an awful job with balance and pvp thus far by trying to accommodate players who complain without actually understanding mechanics. by listening solely to those players instead of the ones who actually have extensive experience and insight into these game modes, SE has effectively skewed and dumbed down what should have been really awesome pvp in FFXIV.

This, I'd go with a PvP exclusive version of "The Kindness of Strangers" achievements though, or the "A Tankless Job" ones... Probably "The Kindness of Strangers" though, because maybe I'll actually see healers using Raise then...

Well if they do, they should go ahead and call the Healer achievement 'A Thankless Job' haha.
