20 minutes to launch, patch notes theory crafting.

I started pouring over the patch notes. the following is all OBSERVATIONS from the patch notes. which means alot is just guesses based of that.

there are 5 new cornerstone materials: Astral Birch, Adamantite Ingot, Aurum Regis Ingot, Griffin Leather, and Astral Silk. Each of these requires a 5x mat of sometime which I'm GUESSING is some sort of red scrip material, from temple leves, or possibly the new DoL "Favors". These materials include, Dryad Sap, Purified Coke, Raziqcoat, Odorless Animal Fat, Moonbeam Silk (Names seem fairly familiar?) After gleaming through the new recipes, it looks like it will take 204 of these items to make everything, or 1020 of these possibly scrip items.

stats and meldability of new gear unknown as of now.
The following appear to be i170 craftable: DoH/L waist, accessories, offhands
The following appeare to be i170 craftable, with a possible i180 set that is entirely seperate or upgrade from the i170 set: DoH Main hands, DoH Left Side Sans Belt
The following appear to be i170 but not craftable: DoL Left Side Sans Belt, DoL Mainhands
There is also what appears to be a universal i160 set for DoL (total guess).
There does not appear to be a universal i160 set for DoH (total guess).

If this is new BiS gear, progress will have a hard cap because of scrips.
If this is not new BiS gear, then this is intended for those that can't afford to pentameld a full set to compete. However, I find this HIGHLY unlikely that the new gear is not the new BiS.

I can theorize there a few possibilities here:
1. i170 is craft, and then upgraded using scrips, to i180. none of this will be meldable.
2. i170 is crafted and meldable. i180 comes from scrips. The Superiority of gear would be i70 crafted < i180 < i170 crafted and melded. If this is true, SE obviously hates the crafting elite cause now we gotta meld 8 sets...AGAIN.
3. something else entirely.

Roughly 170 fieldcraft IIIs are needed for crafting, and 16 for gathering. 8 Mastercraft demimateria will be needed for crafting.

41 Leafborne aethersand
49 Seaborne aethersand
62 Landborne aethersand

you'll need to make

22 astral birch lumber
35 adamantite ingots
25 aurum regis ingots
70 griffin leather
62 astral silk

maybe I'll update after launch, but I'll likely be way to busy trying to get ahead in what is likely another increasingly difficult and expensive update for DoH/L
I will also likely be crying on the inside the whole time.

Also, NO NEW FURNITURE BESIDES 2 SAVAGE ALEX ITEMS?

also lot of new DoW i180 craftables. that will be some good money

well the 170s are meldable.
also as usual woe is my connection because I got shafted out of the FCIIIs.... oh well

anyway, I was right earlier about needing uber gear to get the NEW uber gear.
The minimum requirements to even make the new body pieces are 718/695. Considering I'm full melded with an exception to only 2 melds on the main/offhand each, I only have 732/696 stats in comparison.

So we need ALL Regional folklore for the new stuff or is that the new stuff introduced today?

LTW needs Red Alumen, Weaver needs Astral Oil and Moonbeam silk (wha?). I do wish SE would give us a patch preview, someone has already purchased every single MC material off the AH and stuck them back up at 1m gil.

oh and, all that nice DoW/M gear to help us make money? yeah no we're screwed there too.

since we're capped at 450 tokens a week, you hinder your own progression to make and sell those.

good luck finding a DoW/M that is able to grind his one tokens only to turn around and ask you to make gear out of it.
