Use up seals from other companies before becoming a private?

I saw in the 1.19 patch notes that were posted recently this little gem.

Players may only pledge their allegiance to a single Grand Company. Once they have done so, players may not do the following:
•Leave their current company or join another.
•Accept another company's quests.
•Use seals earned while a recruit of another company.

So if you've picked one company to be your main, but done the others two's quests and have some seals you should spend them all up before becoming a private. Maybe the crafting books or other consumables?

The seals arent getting deleted. Bayonhe told us the amount of seals we have will be stored for when we are able to use them again.

I am burning all my seals before joining a company =P

Crafting my @ss off with those company buff scrolls...with the ~7k seals left from other companies i guess i might be able to get around 47ish with BSM (hopefully) ^^

I burned all mine too about a week ago... Sadly it looks as though we'll still need some according to the patch notes. My apologies if I've misunderstood the table in question, but it seems to say you need to complete several nation quests in different nations in order to unlock the pledging allegiance quest for the nation pledging to, and you need seals from the other nations.

I don't know, it looks like you have to at least do the simple nation quests to get the pledge quest (the ones that don't take you to thousand maws.) but I don't see anything about seals. Here's the prereq for the Ul'Dah pledge quest.

You have the option of using another company's seals to rank up in your preferred company. This is probably so you can save your seals in your main company for a chocobo and items.

You don't have to do all 3 nations, just do all the non-dungeon quests and another after-patch quest for another nation and you will be able to rank up in your main.

Really? That would be awsome but it says you can't use seals earned while a recruit of another company. I guess they could be adding in some way to convert them?

You currently and after the patch can earn and use seals from other companies as long as you don't rank up. It's not till AFTER you rank up and use the seals that you get locked out of the other companies completely.

Thats nice, I may save up and buy the rank 30 weapons before picking a main company.
