So...I'm not talking about having all pieces of gear and get a stat or effect bonus. Though that isn't a bad idea.
My idea is getting a full Buccaneer's set opens up a pirate quest line mini adventure...or get the Onion set and step into a lil story quest of the onion knights. Acquire all pieces...talk to proper NPC and starts a little side quest story.
Just throwing more ideas at you Yoshida. ;)

Just don't give us a stat bonus for wearing a full set of gear because, just like in FFXI, some pieces of a set are just terrible (Wizard's Sabots for example from FFXI)
I like this idea. Since the other gear set bonus for wearing all pieces of one set is sometimes unbearable due to some pieces sucking on stats and not being worth wearing even for the set bonus. But if you had a complete set put it on and talked to an npc and got a new quest for it. that's and idea I like

Any idea is a good idea (even terrible ones have good things you can learn/pull from it; but this I'd consider a good idea anyway...lol)
