Deployment Tactics is a raid skill?

I just got Deploy and I'm thinking abou its uses. I see it much better used in your pet when on field to spread the effects to you, than a raid battle, where you usually just need E4aE on the tank... Spread Adlo is great, but Succor already does it (in a weaker way) and faster too, since you just use 1 skill.
Because of this feeling, I'm using Deploy more when doing quests, FATEs or hunts. And the macros below are working wonders:

(The /wait on deployment is because E4aE animation causes deploy to not spread it if used right after E4aE)

What do you even mean? You cast Adlo faster than you do Succor (2s vs. 2.5s with no SPSP), with Deployment Tactics being an oGCD.

Succor is faster than Adlo+Deploy with animation lock. You risk to not spread Adlo/E4aE if you hit deploy too fast.
(Or maybe I'm either lagging or having latency issues, I don't know now...)

Edit: Also with my macro for deploy, I /wait 1 sec to cast it, making it slower anyway.

Adlo>deployment tactics is for when there is raid wide damage coming that needs heavier mitigation than succors shields. Think along the lines of bosses ultimates etc in raids. You can deploy crit adlos.

Also deploying eye for an eye on everyone when the boss does physical aoes is of great benefit (i believe it procs on physical aoes, so having the chance for it to proc from more than one source is good).

To be honest, most thing i engage with in the open world are of little threat, so deploying an eye for an eye to myself from my pet is a little unneeded.

It isn't really significant though with the animation lock, you don't clutch the pre-Adlos for AOE impacts anyway, especially because some things snapshot pretty nasty fast. You could easily have casted it on a target a good 5-10s earlier and then resumed doing whatever you are doing, then just DT'ing on the target you Adlo'd before. If you're spreading E4E as well - sure, you'll want to maximize its duration, but for raid-wide impact mitigation of singular big impacts, nothing is impeding you from casting the Adlo well ahead of time as I explained previously and mitigating the issue of DTing too early for it to take effect.

I don't know why you'd prefer a succor over deploying Adlo, when you have enough time to set it up.

Adlo without buffs is still double the potency of a succor.

I'm not saying succor is better, I'm saying it's faster. My opinion is that Deploy is more used in field than in raid, not necessarily more useful. If you set up it right, it could be an excelent mitigation.

(And of course your Adlo is way better, crit with Fey Illumination, Convalescence and Defiance against a plain succor is not the best example, since you depend on you and on the tank. <Wondering why Mantra isn't there> How would a crit succor with all those buffs would compare to a plain Adlo+Deploy?)

You just have to plan a littler farther ahead than usual with Deployment Tactics. For instance, in A1, I start casting Adloquium on Selene just before the Opressors go up during the bomb phase. I then "Place" her in the section we will move to, and use DT while we are moving. It gives plenty of time before the AoE goes off, but does require more planning than just using Succor would. It's also useful during the predictable AoE damage in A3, as long as you use it prior to the AoE going off; its easily enough to shield everyone from the AoE, allowing you to stay in Cleric Stance longer.

Of course I'd try to get the most out of my Deployment Tactics. It's nice even without any buffs, but why not boost it to make life easier. And it didn't have Mantra, because I just wanted to a quick picture, that is doable in most raid setup (since I've seen a few groups replacing their MNK with a DRG, but no one replacing their WAR with DRK. But that's just what I've seen).

It's really a matter of if you have the time/communication to set up a good Adlo to spread.
Edit: A non-crit Adlo would still be a higher shield than a crit Succor would give.

DT is good for small group mitigation. You know those attacks where you get targeted and have to share the incoming damage with 3 other players? Since they stack DT works well, and can mitigate a lot more damage without using AF. But, for big group hits I can't deal with DT's short range. SS and Succor are still a more reliable option to me.
