options overload

Anybody else having trouble picking a side job to level? That 50-60 grind is real, and you have to have a real interest in the job to go through that grind. My drg is at the point where it literally only needs Alex every week. So I need to pick another job, but... Just can't seem to find something that I enjoy like drg. Which is funny because I have everything but mnk to 50.

I think the answer is ranged dps incase for any reason my static needs one of us melee to kick out to ranged. I have full knowledge of the ranged jobs to fifty but post 50 just a cursory knowledge. So questions:

Does sum play the same just with flashy aoe abilities now? If not what's different?
How is bard after the fix? Is the consensus that wm is a toggled move or is it kept on for max dps?
Blm keylines, can you walk off and walk back on to dodge and continue to get the buff? Is that rotation really so tight that thunder has become filler? Is it still a great spike dmg dps?

SMN is the least changed. You do have to "keep track" of Aethertrails, but really it's not all that hard to space out your Aetherflow uses unless you're the kind of person that sees you have it and must use it asap.

WM is meant to be kept on as much as feasible. The 30% damage across the board plus Empy is just too much to be losing out on by toggling.

Can't speak for BLM as I haven't leveled it to 60 yet.

For bard:
DPS is fine. Keep WM on, unless you believe you won't be able to DPS efficiently with it on (too much movement).
This can change depending on your experience with an encounter, if something goes wrong, etc. Don't be afraid to turn it off if you realize you're moving a lot. Of course, don't be afraid to use WM either... it is definitely a DPS boost.

Also, the other jobs I'm getting to sixty are: MCH (Done), SCH (next), NIN, and AST. I'm not too sure I'll level anything else... maybe my PLD (tanking experience is important to have, even if I hate it). I'm not doing it all at once though... SCH will probably take a month since I'll casually level it. Same with the other two, though since NIN is teeechnically my raid alt I should probably get that up...oh well.

me personally, im farming alex every week, and leveling my 50's to 60, just to have them 60 and geared up for whatever comes. just pace yourself. do a roulette and complete some challenge log and level them up at a pace you feel is fit. and make sure to do your weekly raid!
