Alexander Savage: The raid that killed the ability to help your friends clear

Like I am reading how the loot works and this kind of... just... ow.

Wow.

Even just one experienced player? Ow.

Let alone the ability to farm this raid to get loot seems.... incredibly... difficult... Need to somehow set up a premade party of 4 for optimal perks and take 4 randoms to get loot? This seems worrisome.


"If there are one to four players in your party replaying a turn, only a single treasure coffer will appear.
If there are five to seven players in your party replaying a turn, no treasure coffers will appear."

I gather from your join date that you're probably a bit new to the game.
This is how all of the 'hardcore' raids have worked on release.

Edit: If you're taking 'randoms' with you you're not likely to clear at all.

Man....FFXI BCNM battle system and loot drops are still far superior than this games so called endgame... I know. I guess I'll go play that game.

The system works like this:

Teaching one person is easier than teaching 5, they want you to learn the fight but not be rewarded for not learning it truely. this has been the case since Final Coil. Before this you would be locked out completely from the previous turn, meaning you couldn't help anyone.

They're now allowing players who have the content downed to help the playerbase progress, this is the penalty you receive for having someone help you, which in all honesty i believe is right since in terms of knowledge you're getting the down/fight clear so you can next time get the two chest benefit.

I just hope for PF(I know I know but still) groups that there will be a message if somebody in the group has already cleared.

What's the fuss though? I mean, even if there are no chests drop, the new comers still get the tokens. I think it still an improvement over the Final Coil?

If you cared about helping your friends clear that much I don't think you'd be bothered by only having one chest drop.

I agree a token dropping for guaranteed gear is nice but the chest restriction is just... very painful.

I'm guessing you're still pretty new, this is how all of the top tier raids have worked. These fight wont be easy, and you really aren't going to want to go with randoms or carry multiple friends at once.

It stops the system from being abused (gear funneling). As far as RNG lets you anyway.
