Reflection on rusted metal

Personally I think it looks a tad odd. Like there is a layer of lamination/polish on it.

It looks great on wooden floors and wet surfaces, but on rusted metal ...

I think the main issue is the reflection characteristics don't change when on the rougher metal surface, it has to be more diffused.

I noticed this as well. Struck me as unusual, like they coded the surface as "metal = reflective" without taking into account that not all the metal surfaces in the game should be super shiny.

Really only seems noticeable in places like Limsa Lominsa along the bridges.

Probably just easier for them to code it that way and then there's the whole 'PS3 limitations' thing which we've all heard a thousand times.

Or they can just turn off the reflection for the metal ...

They have done so for the stone flooring outside (when dry).

Also I doubt the PS3 has enough power to spare for the DX11 reflections, thus PS3 limitations should be a non-issue.
