Am I the only one to find SMN kind of stressful to play now?

So many buttons, so many things to track, AND I have to dodge stuff. :eek:

Can't really ignore the new buttons either since the Job's damage tuning assumes you will use them all - it will take forever to kill anything without trance.

Really you only have to track Aethertrails. Everything else is the same as before.

I would say SMN was the least impacted in terms of actual gameplay compared to previously, unless you count spacing out festers as a significant gameplay change.

My only real problem on smn now are these useless, garbage, timid tanks, that move from pull to pull at snail speed and stare at the next group of mobs as if they suddenly forgot how to play the game, while I'm sitting there watching my aethertrail decay. I mean seriously, I do not think that getting from one group of mobs to the next in under 30 seconds is really a lot to ask for, given that it usually only takes 5-10 seconds. I don't care if you pull big groups or small groups. I do care that you pull in a swift consistent manor, especially now that most dps jobs have some sort of buff that they need to maintain through constant combat.

Oh I feel your pain. I've had a few of the tanks you mention, watching as my BotD ticks away and the cooldown no where near ready to reuse. The group is ready to go, hp fine, mp fine, yet they sit there. I've even had those morons that pop all of their defensive cooldowns and stand there a good 5-10 seconds before finally pulling. Mmm what a waste of cooldown uptime.

It's like watching a poorly written bot play.

This is why I don't pug tank no more, the expectation for tanks to do 100% or else be called garbage/useless. play with your FC mates if you want perfect runs or play a tank yourself to set the pace.

Now after a dungeon run, I'm like totally pooped.

Also don't get me started on the amount of "redundant" spells hogging action bar space - e.g. it is really necessary for Ruin III to be a separate spell, Rouse/Spur, Painflare/Deathflare ...

Don't know about other Jobs. I only got to 60 on SMN like yesterday and it's the only 60 I have.

All the DPS jobs have some complexity at 60.

The good news is that the timings start to become muscle memory if you do them enough. This greatly reduces the mental strain. You will "know" when it's about time to do something, or a buff is about to drop, etc. I found monk to be very stressful until I played it for a bit, because I had to think about every positional as I was doing it. Now I can move between forms by reflex and think more about the encounter.

I can understand that. I certainly sucked for a long time and esp in primals before I got my groove back so to speak.

Oh I do that too. Leveling my warrior to 60 right now, and I do it right. I finish a group, of mobs, and move immediately on to the next group. I know how it feels, and want to keep my dps happy, and it takes like, literally no extra effort to do it. It just requires not standing around like a moron for no reason whatsoever. And thank you btw for not pugging on tank anymore. One less of your kind to worry about.
