Will my Iron ingot be a dated iron ingot after patch ?
and can i use it in a synth that requires a iron ingot after patch ?

What does that mean? Does it mean that Dated gear cannot be used to generate materia?
doesn't really mean anything, its just a label from what I read.
no it's only in the craft history, it'll show as "Dated Ingot" because it's using a "Dated" recipe
the items in your inventory will still be called the normal name
I'm sure many a lancer will be happy to know that at some point their character was dating their spear.
I think that's a cool little feature actually.
Just think in 5 years it could hold some nostalgia...
If we're still here in 5 years obviously...
You dont know that HiPotion, you are assuming it.
in the post the names of the gear have changed.
I believe that this is happening because the item tiers are changing.
Key example : Iron Halberd pre-1.19 was a rank 50 LNC weapon. In the new metal tiers, Iron is below Steel, Mythril and Cobalt, and so is not a rank 50 weapon. The new Iron Halberds made with the 1.19+ recipe will likely be in the 20ish range. To keep people from losing their current weapons, existing Iron Halberds will be turned into "Dated Iron Halberds", which will remain rank 50, and have appropriate stats for this rank.
This way the material tiers can all be adjusted without a rank 50 LNC logging in after the patch to suddenly discover he has a r20 halberd.
maybe your right.. i guess i read wrong
I do not believe that it's just a label. They really should tell us the significance of the change to Dated items.
