Why 999,999,999 gil? Marketwards

This one is for the marketward users. I imagine many are in the same boat as me on this one.

Why on earth do ppl sell items for the max amount of money (99,999,999)??? It's silly!!!

Ok, I can comepltely understand if it was a top items, eg: super sword which does tons of stuff but only at top level and i worked ever so hard to get it etc etc.... I understand why THIS would be at thr max price.

But seriously,R20 vests!!!! why do ppl do that? This is not a rant as so much as i want an answer!! If i have missed soething then pls tell :)

It is very furstrating going with say 50k to find that unles im on end game money, i cannot afford a vest, or a set of trousers (pants to the US) etc!

Any explanation pls

They just want their retainer to wear the item. Putting the price that high makes sure no one actually buys it.

Ok, that makes sense. But why not set the items up for "repair"? bte im not talking anout limited xmas stuff etc. Im talking about items such as Coatee(red) etc

If I could make my retainer more likely to get random /checks by making her dress skanky WITHOUT having to sacrifice a few slots for 999,999,999g items, I would.

I think they said something about letting us put clothes on them for aesthetics someday, but it never came back up after that musing.

Free slots, and the fact that if your last item in retainer is sold, it disappears automatically and must be recalled, thus losing your ridiculously hard to get spot in certain wards.
