Morale in pvp?

I'm coming back after a year of not playing and was wondering if morale now works in PvP and i have to spend my wolf marks from year ago on something pvpish, or can I just hop right into action with my PvE gear?
That question came to me because i teleported to that pvp "city" and saw bunch of equipment pretty much the same as a year ago, with morale stat attached to it.

Is there anything new important I should know that happened within a year in pvp?

Morale was changed

the original morale was: For every 10 points DIFFERENCE in morale between competitors, you deal 1% more damage and receive 1% less damage

the new morale increases the ilvl of the equipment it is attached to, so a swanliege robe is i110 in pve but i130 in pvp

This also affects i80 sync mode, the Swanleige robe is i110, it is boosted to i130, then it is synced to i80 caps (pretty much all actual i80 gear doesnt meet the i80 caps, but boosted equipment does)
