Is it true before I can enjoy the new expansion as a new 50 I have to complete every level 50 quest here?

Because I am counting about 100 of them. Please tell me this is not true.

Yes... xD
Sorry mate, you need to get to the point in the story where visiting Ishgard makes sense - unfortunately that isn't early in the story (they've closed their gates to outsiders and are handling their issues themselves, until ice comes a knocking).
I'm sure people would be willing to help for story missions, but it will be a bit of walking around in between story missions (they generally give enough money to ease teleporting costs but then you will come out with less bling).
There is a bright side though, the main story line will get you gil, gear, and exp taking you through a story that doesn't suck like most MMORPGs and will drop you right off at the gates where you will continue to get gil, gear, and partaking in a nice story. After you use the main storyline for exp you can take advantage of the armoury bonus to quickly level other jobs :).
Yes. Welcome to the same thing everyone else had to do too!
The good news is that this story will regularly introduce you to new trial battles and dungeons as it proceeds, and there's a huge amount of level 50 content you can participate in beyond those if you want to take a break at any point.
It's not a chore; the story is rather enjoyable, especially the patch stories. Just don't look at it as a chore, otherwise you won't enjoy it
I really don't understand people who complain about doing all the story before going to Ishgard, if you just skip the LV50 Story stuff then the story of you going into Ishgard would be like. "who's this dude and why is he here?" "Dunno just some random adventurer"
It is really hard to not think like this. It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many pointless quests. I did all the story content after it was released from start to finish, I didn't have the chance to do it as it came out. I had to stop playing the game all together for days at a time just to keep some sanity. Maybe it was just me, but it was very mind numbing to the point that I never though I would finish it, let alone even buy the expansion.
I really feel bad for people like this that are just starting out. If all you have in your life is playing video games you may be ok, but for those who have other things in life that limit play time, it is going to be a rough go. To the OP, press on, keep sane, if you find yourself getting headaches while playing through, take a break, don't try and do it all at once. You'll get there eventually.
Also thanks to Unsycedness now you can ask peeps to clear trials/dungeons story related in less time then when it 1st came out.
