Suggestion: Please allow scaling of the NPC Dialog Window

Recently I've managed to get my father, a 61-year old former WoW player, to try Final Fantasy 14. He seems to like it for the most part, but he has a major problem with the game: The NPC dialog window is too small, and there's no way to change the size of it to make it bigger.

My dad has been playing MMOs since 2000 or so with EQ, and at some point in his 50s he was diagnosed with cone dystrophy. The man is legally blind and near-sighted to an extreme. With this game being so focused on text-based dialog, it is extremely difficult for him to keep up with what is going on in most quests and in the main story, with his reading glasses, and with a magnifying glass being held up to the screen so he can read the NPC text.

It seems odd to me that the majority of the UI can be scaled to a large size, yet the NPC dialog window is completely unalterable. Can we PLEASE get the dialog window added to the list of UI elements that we can alter the size of?

I have the same exact issue. The dialog boxes from the NPCs or quests are tiny on my 1080p TV. There is NO way to scale the dialog box, it is not the same as UI scaling. This is extremely frustrating that i have the hardware to play past 1080p and i cant because of small the dialogue boxes are. I have less than 5 feet from my TV and would need to squint. Now i have to play the game at 720p just so i can read the quest stuff.

This is not an issue on ANY other game i have played, only ffxiv.

I really don't get this game sometimes. They have accessibility options that have controlled lights & sounds for specific events, but there isn't an accessibility option to make text visible for people... in a game where the story is primarily delivered via text. I am seeing in 20/20 with my glasses on, and I still need to lean up and squint to read the NPC dialogue. There are like 30 customizable elements in the UI... I can't imagine why this window isn't one of them.

This is really needed. (And surprisingly overdue. Why hasn't it been there from the start?)

I've wanted this for almost as long as I've been playing. If I were on PS3/4 instead of PC and couldn't have the screen less than two feet away from my face, I wouldn't be able to read the text at all. Why can I resize all the other text, but not this?

This is an accessibility issue and should be addressed. OP's father has to use a magnifying glass, for goodness's sake! And it's so easily fixed, too! Please give us the option.

I have the exact opposite issue... my NPC dialog box is huge... like... takes up 10% of my screen huge... and I can't make it smaller. The entire rest of my UI is scaled down to 60%, but UI scaling doesn't touch the NPC Dialog box, the menu attached to the chat bar, or the nameplates. So in my tiny 60% world, those things remain gigantic.
