Pet glamour for SMN?

I was so sad when the SMN class quest had you try to summon a Ramuh egi and fail at it (especially after this and how cool it would be to have a little Ramuh with me).

Have they discussed perhaps making pet glamour a thing? Basically, Garuda egi would look like Ramuh with the same set of abilities with different names, etc.

Basically in the live letter they said don't hold your breath.

But when they do come out, muchmuch much later, they said they are taking care with SFX, visual effects, textures, etc.

So much later on, but they will be very high quality.

They basically said what and see. Since is not just glamour like armor, they still need to do abilities, animations and everything the real egis do. At this point if better to ask for more egis than just glamour for them.

RIGHT?!!? My head hurts thinking about this crap, I look at several other games with classes like Summoners, and they have no problem making multiple pets for those classes, even if some are carbon copies with new skins and minor ability differences.

I know people are going to cry wah wah people are going to use the best one, wah wah wah. Yes the elite min/maxers will always use the best ANYTHING, even if gear makes them look like a stupid homeless moogle trust me they will use it for that +10 dps

On my Warlock in Warcraft I often switched between whatever demon I wanted to have out cause I got tired of looking at one, all of them have minor differences in abilities but they all do about the same in terms of DPS. Then look at Warcrafts Hunters and the endless supply of pets they can get, and then youll get a headache and wonder why Warlocks cant do the same with all the demons in that game.

Anyways, Ill grab some popcorn and let the white knights run in here and cry this isnt Warcraft and blah blah blah

Yet you think for some bizarre reason that the answer to this is to add useless/ineffective/carbon copy summons to clutter your hotbars rather than just glamoring the existing ones...

Personally I would just be happy with the ability to skin the 3 types with a limited selection of skins - e.g. Caster = Garuda Egi/Emerald Carbuncle, Tank = Titan Egi/Topaz Carbuncle, ...

For the Carbuncles, their ability animations are all already done - save Enkindle.

Are they going for any skin on any type? Would seem weird to see Garuda-Egi tanking stuff. xD Not to mention it would ruin the "identity" of the skin.

Anyway, I hope they can release it ASAP when the base system is done /w what animations they have instead of waiting for ALL the animations of every skin to get done.

Yeah, I'd assume that re-skinning Garuda over your Tank Egi would fall under the same no-no as Skinning over your Mage with Tank gear. It would be horribly confusing and who would want that?

*Sees all the threads asking to open up the glamours cause tanking in a Bikini is confusing enough* I stand by my point.

This basically means the way the class is currently designed makes it very difficult to implement changes to the summoner as it currently stands. I'm not expecting any changes for summoner to happen any time soon. They will be taking a very long look at summoner and reviewing the class if they want it stay the way its currently made. They put so much into it now that its very difficult to make changes without possibly altering the class as a complete whole. The developers have a very hard road ahead of them and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the discussion came up with let's overhaul the class. Best of luck to the devs because this is one class that is not easy to bring to the table and to discuss about that's for sure.

This is mostly a cosmetic change though. A "review" really isn't necessary for pet glamour.

Granted the Job as a whole could use some tuning - there are a heck a lot of buttons now. ><
