Suggestion: optimal level for gear.

So in 1.0 they had a system where you could equip gear that was a higher level than your character but the stats would be lowered if you were a lower level than the gear.

With all the talk of not being able to add more inventory, what I thought would be a good idea would be to bring a similar system in to 3.0.

You know how when you level sync for a FATE or dungeon your gear level syncs too?
Well for the optimal level system you'd be able to equip gear that is a higher level than you but it would sync to have the stats of your actual level (similar to if you'd entered a FATE or dungeon wearing it).

This would help solve inventory issues because instead of having i180 gear for my PLD, i130 gear for my WAR and level 32 gear for my DRK I could just have the i180 gear and use it on all 3 jobs but the stats would sync to those jobs levels.

Lets not.
It'd completely invalidate any reason for gear existing below the level cap, Since you'd just buy the level 60 stuff, then never ever have to upgrade your gear ever again.
